Hello all,
And just like that, March is upon us! March 20th marks the 1st day of spring, and spring marks a period of natural rebirth; an awakening from dormancy, and for some of us a period of frustration and irritability! I recently learned that in Chinese medicine the emotion associated with Spring is anger, and no one likes feeling short fused for no apparent reason. So, let's discharge some of that excess aggravated energy:
Take a warm soothing bath or treat yourself to a sauna.
Lay down with a couple of chilled green tea bags on your eyes and just breathe, visualize frustration leaving your body and the universe receiving it for disposal.
Get outside! Walk and fill your lungs with the prana of Spring, or for a deeper lung cleanse, run until your heart rate is up and you are short of breath.
Eat green, drink green! Take advantage of the fresh baby greens and herbs available at the market, a little greening of your diet has a huge impact.
Hit some extra classes; a restorative, yin, or vinyasa class may be just the thing to flush out some of that stagnated energy. Try a class option you don’t typically take, something new to you.
And, my favorite, it’s daffodil season! A bunch of these beauties in your home is a literal vase full of Spring in your space…be kind to you.
