Where and when did you complete your training?
I completed my first teacher training in Hawaii in 2011. I have taken multiple trainings since, most recently having completed over 300 hours of training in the LYT Yoga Method.
Is there a particular practice or theory that informs your teaching?
Developed by a physical therapist, LYT Yoga blends traditional yoga with functional movements that help optimize our postural and energetic alignment, light up the brain, and enhance our sense of compassion towards ourselves and others.
How long have you been practicing?
15 years
What yoga/fitness-related continued education courses have your attended?
Prenatal yoga, gentle yoga, Ayurveda, meditation, and more!
What is your favorite class to teach?
Tough question! I enjoy teaching a variety of classes and styles.
What inspired you to start your personal practice?
I grew up taking dance classes, so movement has always been prominent in my life, and I fell in love with the mindfulness component that yoga offers.
What inspired you to start teaching?
My experiences in my personal practice and my first teacher training.
What in-class memory warms your heart?
A few years ago I taught a prenatal series (I happened to be pregnant at the time, too) and after all our babies were born we got together for a mom & baby class, it was so sweet!
If there was one thing you could impart to your students, what would it be?
Stand tall and breathe deeply.
