In 2000 Acupuncture and Asian Medicine was not as accepted as widely by the medical community as today. John understood this very quickly after graduating from The Academy of Oriental Medicine in Austin, TX then moving to Maine. He opened a small clinic on Munjoy Hill and added to the area's economic growth and popularity. The potential impact his training in acupuncture, Asian bodywork and Chinese herbal formulation was too great not to share their impact with medical providers around Portland.
For over 20 years John has provided excellent care for his patients and taken the concept of medical collaboration to new levels of effectiveness. He would say that without the partnership with his wife, an exceptional Physical Therapist, Nancy Jade would not be Jade. "Our different treatment paradigms ran parallel to the patient’s goals and complimented one another." The results made Jade a destination for people in need of care and a model for the medical community to respect.
The journey continues and John’s role at Jade Integrated Health evolves as the company grows. People like how Jade treats disease and dysfunction. Physicians see the benefit of treating the whole person with a community of practitioners with different perspectives and a singular goal. Growing demand for this approach has brought John to manage the fortunate situation of business growth and expansion. The need to educate the medical community of the broad uses for acupuncture and herbal formulation continues. Additionally, improving business relationships in all areas enhances the community and creates opportunities for Jade’s unique and innovative approach.
Outside of Jade John repairs many things, exercises many miles and keeps his family close for as long as possible.
