Acupuncture/Needling
The basics
Acupuncture is a medicine that is practiced by inserting very thin, sterile needles into the skin. This process treats disease from the inside out and is meant to effect change in the body. As a part of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), acupuncture has been practiced for thousands of years, and is based on the concept of correcting energy flow throughout the body to achieve balance. The acupuncture needles are inserted into specific points that are located along meridians or in proximity to these channels of the body. The needles stimulate the body's own healing capabilities, increase blood flow, reduce pain, and improve overall health and wellness.
