Yoga One on One

Wherever you are on your journey with yoga - a newbie, a seasoned yogi or somewhere in between, having a private yoga session with one of our certified yoga instructors may be just the thing to help you reach your wellness goals. With the number of yoga options these days it can be hard to navigate where to begin, which class to select, and how to modify postures when you’re in a group setting. 

At Jade, we offer private yoga sessions with one of our certified yoga instructors. Some of our instructors are also physical or occupational therapists. The benefits of having a 1-1 session, versus going to a group class, is that with the 1-1 you get individual attention to specifically address your yoga and wellness goals. Whether your goals are to begin practicing yoga in the first place, to use yoga as a therapeutic tool for recovery, or to simply implement yoga as an everyday practice for well-being; the 1-1 session can support you in those goals. Let us guide you on your yoga path through a customized approach. 

For example, the 1-1 yoga sessions can provide an opportunity to individuals who may be wanting to try yoga for the first time, but are feeling timid about taking a yoga class with other individuals. In this case, your instructor would help ease that transition to a group class by first walking you through some basic postures and perhaps learning breathwork and meditation techniques. Your instructor can give full attention to your body’s strengths, your goals, and any limitations you may be experiencing. You will get specific feedback and from there you’d be able to feel confident enough to transition to a community yoga class. 

In other cases, you may have mobility, strength, or other wellness goals. In this case your instructor would design a customized yoga sequence to meet your goals. You will have the opportunity for discussion and your instructor can provide feedback on alignment and modifications that may feel beneficial to your body for gains in strength or flexibility.

Each session lasts roughly one hour and is led by a certified yoga instructor. Sessions are held in one of Jade’s yoga studios (Brunswick or Portland). Props are provided. All are welcome and encouraged to reach out with any further questions!
