Crossroads Back Cove Residential Program
Many of you know Jade Integrated Health and our integrative practice, that we offer physical therapy, acupuncture, massage and yoga. You know our personnel and what we do in the clinic. However, many of you may not know that we have outreach programs that serve the Greater Portland Community by offering workplace wellness and teaching yoga off-site. One of our proudest partnerships is with Crossroads Back Cove Program.
If you're not familiar with their work, Crossroads provides gender-responsive addiction and behavioral health treatment services in a safe and respectful environment so individuals and families can lead healthy lives. Crossroads is where you would send your mother, father, sister, brother, daughter or son for outpatient or residential treatment for substance abuse and mental health in a comfortable, safe environment so they can remember who they wanted to be. Offering Maine's most comprehensive treatment for behavioral health with a gender-specific focus, Crossroads services include outpatient counseling for men, women and families and residential substance abuse treatment for women.
For two years we have worked with Crossroads in their Back Cove Program Residential Program which serves as a premier recovery destination for women all over the country, offering holistic treatment in a beautiful Maine setting. In addition to cutting edge gender-responsive addiction and emotional health treatment, the Back Cove Program includes yoga, equine therapy and acupuncture. In this 30 day inpatient treatment program Jade Integrated Health has had the pleasure of offering yoga between 3 and 5 days a week to Crossroads residents to address union between mind, body and spirit in the journey of recovery and the transformation back into the fullness of life.
Last week our lead physical therapist and founder, Nancy Charlebois and yoga director, Lauren Lauzier had the pleasure of attending Crossroads Annual Gala. The evening began with an elaborate silent auction, catching up with the folks who make everything happen at Crossroads, followed by dinner and a dynamic speech by Connie, a woman affected by her husband's alcoholism and her journey through al anon.
Crossroads is fundraising for the rest of the year to replenish their scholarship fund in order to get more men and women into treatment. The link to that fund can be found here The Barbara L. Dacri Patient Scholarship Fund, alternatively donors can support Crossroads by making a gift to our general fund found on our support us page http://www.crossroadsme.org/support-us/.
We are grateful and humbled to be a part of Crossroads efforts and hopefully touch the lives of the women we meet in treatment.
